Are You Looking For A One Of A Kind Day Camp Experience For A Young Lady?

Living History Day Camps will provide an unique opportunity for participants to experience an historical time period.  Summer 2012 will feature the Victorian Times, Colonial Days and Decades Time Travel Day Camps.

Young ladies will step back in time amd experience life as it was lived hundreds of years ago.  These exciting day camps will offer young ladies 7 - 12 years of age an opportunity to re-enact life of girls born in different eras of American history...

Each day of camp, the young ladies will be invited to dress  up in replica vintage style era appropriate clothing and participate in a variety of role play activities and crafts.

Living History Day Camps  featuring the Colonial Days (Era: 1600's - 1700's) , the Victorian Times (also known as the Civil War Era: 1800's) and the Decades Time Travel Camp (Era: 1900's - 2011).  These camps will provide the most memorable “hands-on” history experience that  a 7 – 12  year old young lady will remember!

Living History Day Camps will be offered in JUNE & JULY ONLY!

We intentionally keep each of the camps small in size to provide an intimate setting at Mes Amis Teahouse at Nob Hill. Each session will allow for only 12 – 14 girls. Space will be limited and reservations will be on a first come, first served basis. Due to the high demand for this camp, a $50 non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve a space.

Click on the Colonial Days , the Victorian Times , or the Decades Time Travel links to find out more details about each individual camp!

About the Directors:

Michelle Pesut Otterness is the Owner of Mes Amis Tea House at Nob Hill in Albuquerque, New Mexico and also the Founder and Director of Living History Day Camps.  She received two degrees from California Polytechnic (Cal Poly) University in San Luis Obispo:  a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Master of Arts Degree in Education.

Michelle combines her educational background with her love of children to create an unique camp program.  Michelle has taught at the elementary school level and has been involved in many charitable projects.  She is a member of CPOP (Center for the Promotion of Peace) an organization that discusses creative ways of promoting peace within ourselves and in our world.

Michelle and her husband Scott, have three daughters: Chelsea, Rachel and Claire.  Michelle observed with fascination the excitement that their daughters exhibited as they read the American Girl Book Series.  The girls were able to read about the similarities and differences of historical girls their age.  Consequently, Michelle's concept is not to just read about historical girls, but to experience some aspects of their lives.

The goal of the Living History Day CampsTM program is to create an environment where participants are given an unique opportunity to dress in vintage style clothing, role play by participating in era appropriate activities, and lastly, to “connect” with the past by bringing it to life…
